The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats are returning to the Division III Regionals for the second consecutive year.
On Saturday, at the University of Rio Grande, the Lady 'Cats finished in third place to once again advance onto the regionals.
Leading the way for WHS was freshman Morgan Thompson, who finished 17th, one spot short from earning all-district honors individually.
Freshman Taylor Tackett was close behind in 20th place. Whiteoak continued to bring in runners in the middle of the pack, as freshman Maggie Carr was 28th.
The rest of the WHS contingent finished together with Ashleigh Harless at 33rd, Courtney Cummings 34th, Regan Bohrer 35th and Alexis Jones 36th.
The Lady 'Cats finished with a team score of 83 points, behind Eastern Meigs at 21 points and Manchester at 37 points. Paint Valley took the final qualifying spot with 87 points.

"It's just a great feeling knowing that we are the smallest school in the entire Div. III Southeast District (29 schools) and made it back to regionals," WHS coach Doug Hughes said. "We are competing against schools with more than double our number of girls, and even though we lost our top three runners from last year, we still found a way to get it done.
"Every year, our team goals are to be our very best at the end of the season when it matters the most. Our performance in the SHAC and district meets tells me we are doing the right things."
Hughes continued to talk about his team.
"Our girls are incredibly resilient," he said. "We have a team of two juniors, two sophomores and four freshmen, and they kept improving week to week.
"Cummings and Bohrer were the only two runners that have ever run in a varsity race before the season. Not only did we improve and eventually advance, but we had a great time doing it. Next week at Pickerington will be no different … these seven girls will be on the line, and all will have smiles on their faces. They are truly a joy to coach."
