MANCHESTER — Scoring in double figures in three quarters wasn't enough for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, as they dropped their sixth game of the season by a score of 60-49 to the Manchester Lady Greyhounds, Saturday afternoon.
The game was a makeup game from Thursday, Dec. 16 as it was postponed due to inclement weather.
Though the Lady 'Cats trailed 33-27 at halftime, they came back in the third, leading at one point in the quarter, but trailed by one point after the third was completed, 41-40.
In the final eight minutes, Manchester scored 19 points, while holding WHS to nine.
"This was the best game we have played so far this season," WHS head coach Mike Cooper said. "When Jessie (Gilliland) and Brooke (Burns) fouled out late, we had no answer. Again, we continue to improve."
WHS senior Haley Bingamon led the Lady 'Cats with 20 points, making three 3-pointers, four two-point field goals and three free throws (3-of-4).
Jessie Gilliland scored 13 for WHS, including a 5-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. The junior also had two assists.
Brooke Burns scored six points, adding eight rebounds and three blocks.
Lori Bratton finished with four points and three steals, and teammate Bailey Walker scored three points with one block.
McKenzee Martin tallied two points and Marissa Bohl scored one point.
Lizz Carson had nine of the 46 WHS rebounds.
The Lady 'Cats had 34 turnovers (20 in first half), and they finished 10-of-16 from the free-throw line.
The loss drops WHS to 0-4 in the SHL and 0-6 overall.
WHS will play again on Monday, Dec. 27 at McDermitt-Northwest High School.
