As we approach the prom and graduation season, the Ohio Investigative Unit (OIU) and the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control (DOLC) remind high school students and their parents to make safe, responsible and legal choices as they plan celebrations.

With nearly one-third of Ohio’s approximately 27,000 liquor permits set to expire on June 1, the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control has developed an online resource to help inform Ohioans about the permit renewal process and the role that local legislative bodies play.

When Ohioans go to the polls on March 19, they may see a question on the ballot about whether a particular business should be able to sell a certain type of alcohol at a specific location. The question may also reference regular (Monday–Saturday) sales, or it may ask about Sunday sales. These types of questions are part of the local option election law process.

As “Dry January” has come to an end for many Ohioans who abstained from alcohol consumption over the past month, leaders at the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control (DOLC) invite individuals to explore how they might incorporate elements of Dry January into their lifestyles over the next 11 months and beyond.

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control is sharing online tools with Ohioans who plan to participate in Dry January. It's a month-long initiative that encourages individuals to abstain from alcohol for the first month of the year for improved health outcomes in an array of areas.

As this festive season gains momentum, the Ohio Division of Liquor Control (DOLC) urges Ohio consumers to celebrate responsibly while being mindful of the potential risks associated with alcohol consumption.

Starting this fall, the Ohio Division of Liquor Control (DOLC) will only accept liquor permit renewal applications online.

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control awarded $58,100 to three nonprofit organizations to enhance and expand activities related to raising awareness about alcohol-related harms for the public or education efforts for vulnerable groups, including those under the legal drinking age of 21.

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control transferred $9.7 million to the Statewide Prevention and Treatment Fund within the last year.
