Tom Barrick selected to receive OHSBCA’s Larry Wilson Award
The Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) is proud to announce that Tom Barrick is the recipient of the 2025 Larry Wilson Award.
The Larry Wilson Award was created by the OHSBCA to recognize head basketball coaches who have contributed to the growth of the game of basketball and especially the growth of the OHSBCA. The award was named after former Massillon Perry head basketball coach Larry Wilson for his overall contributions to the OHSBCA beginning in 1976.
Barrick spent 31 years as a head boys basketball coach at Jewett-Scio High School, Morgan High School, Wheelersburg High School and Eastern Pike High School. His overall record as a head coach was 481-221. His teams won eight district titles, three regional titles and were the Division III State Runners-Up in 1995.
In addition the various league and district coaching honors he received throughout his career, Coach Barrick was also named OHSBCA Coach of the Year in 2006, inducted into the OHSBCA Hall of Fame in 2015 and named to the National High School Basketball Coaches Association (NHSBCA) Court of Honor in 2018.

In 2016, Barrick was named the first Executive Director of the OHSBCA. He stepped down from that role in 2020 and currently serves as the association’s representative to the NHSBCA, where he is an executive board member.
