MANCHESTER - The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs dropped a game to Southern Hills League foe Manchester 59-48 Friday night at MHS.
"Our kids played extremely hard on defense forcing a number of Manchester turnovers," L-C head coach Jason McLaughlin said. "But, our inability to score consistently hurt us down the stretch. There were at least 15 missed layup opportunities in the game for us."
L-C trailed 29-23 at the half, but came out in the third quarter, playing very aggressive defensive to hold Manchester scoreless for nearly six minutes.
However in that time frame, the Mustangs were only able to score two points in the same time frame.
"We held them scoreless in the third for six minutes, but we only scored two points against them in that same time span, so no real progress was made," McLaughlin said.
The loss puts L-C at 3-6 overall and 2-2 in the league.[[In-content Ad]]
