GREENFIELD - The McClain Lady Tiger volleyball team had their season cut short Wednesday night as they fell to the Miami Trace Lady Panthers in four sets during their Division II SE District sectional game at McClain High School.
Last week, at MHS, the Lady Tigers won in four sets against Miami Trace.
In the sectional game Wednesday, the Lady Tigers won the first set by a score of 25-21, but then dropped three consecutive sets to MT by scores of 28-26, 25-18 and 25-23.
McClain (12-8) played the sectional game without two starters (Kelsey Davis and Jenna Perie) who missed the game due to illness.
Senior Megan Saylor led MHS in kills with 12 and also added six digs. Senior Taylor Delph finished with 18 digs and seven kills against Miami Trace. Kate Hammond, a senior, had 15 digs in the four-set match. Senior Cailey Branham earned five kills and four digs. Alyssa Bean gained 23 assists Wednesday.
"Logan Greene moved up from the JV team to play, and she did a nice job for us," McClain coach Emma Gall said. "Overall, I think we had a good year. This was a great group of girls to work with and the seniors will be missed."[[In-content Ad]]
