Lady Tigers gain SCOL win over Lady Falcons

     CLARKSVILLE – The McClain Lady Tigers gained their seventh South Central Ohio League victory Thursday night as they soundly defeated the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons 49-26 at CMHS.

     MHS led 15-6 after the opening quarter and 41-8 at halftime.

     In each of the final two quarters MHS scored nine points, with the Lady Falcons scoring 11 in the third and seven in the fourth frame.

     McClain junior Chrissy Cobb finished with a game-high 20 points. Cobb made two 3-pointers for an overall total of nine made shots from the floor. Cobb also attained five of McClain’s 13 steals.

     MHS senior Kate Hammond scored 13 against CM, adding eight rebounds and five assists.

     Also scoring for the Lady Tigers were: Sammy Rooks (2), Megan Hogle (2), Cortney Hyer (4), Kate Crabtree (4) and Jenna Perie (4).

     MHS made 23 total field goals and was 1 of 2 from the free-throw line. The Lady Tigers committed just nine fouls in four quarters, and grabbed a total of 27 rebounds.

     The Lady Falcons were forced into 26 turnovers by McClain, with MHS committing 23 turnovers.

     Leading for CM was Stacy Lunsford with nine points.

     McClain jumps to 10-2 overall 7-1 in the SCOL. CM falls to 8-6, 3-3.

     The Lady Tigers will play again on Saturday as they travel to face Madison-Plains at 12 p.m.
