Indians win 3rd SCOL game; upend Panthers

The Hillsboro Indians defended their home court Tuesday night, and in the process took the early lead in the South Central Ohio League, defeating previously undefeated Miami Trace, 78-70 at Hillsboro High School.
The Panthers led after the first quarter 20-17, but it was the Indians who led at halftime, by two points, at 36-34.
MT led headed into the final frame at 57-54. In the fourth quarter, the Indians pulled away, outscoring the Panthers, 24-13.
Devante Ames led all scorers with a season-high 28 points. Aric Carroll followed with 13 points, and Eli Hogsett had 12.
Chase Gilliland and Tyrand Cumberland each finished with eight points, followed by Colt Coates with seven. Caleb Wilson scored two points for HHS.
Miami Trace was led by Isaiah Carson with 25 points. Tucker Hughes scored 15 points.
HHS was 13-of-18 from the free-throw line, while the Panthers were 6-of-10.
The win lifts HHS to 3-2 overall, 3-0 in the SCOL. MT falls to 3-1 overall, 2-1 in the SCOL.
