Bengals sign Heyward, waive Irwin

The Cincinnati Bengals Monday signed LB Shaka Heyward off the practice squad to the active roster and waived WR Trenton Irwin.

Heyward, a first-year player, originally was a college free agent signee of the Bengals in 2023. He spent all of last season and the first 13 weeks of this season on the team’s practice squad. He was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Cincinnati’s Week 11 game at the L.A. Chargers.

Irwin, a fifth-year player, played in seven games with two starts for the Bengals this season.
