Wildcats lose SHAC game at North Adams

The Whiteoak Wildcats traveled to Adams County Tuesday evening, where in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game they lost to the host Green Devils of North Adams, 62-44.
Whiteoak trailed 19-10 after the first quarter, and following a 15-6 second frame led by North Adams, it was the Green Devils holding a 34-16 halftime advantage.
North Adams’ second half saw them have two 14-point quarters, while Whiteoak scored 11 points in the third and 17 points in the fourth quarter.
Whiteoak’s leading scorer was Sawyer Blair with 13 points, as he made five two pointers, one 3-pointer and also had one assist.
Brady Brandenburg totaled 10 points for Whiteoak, sinking three two-point baskets, plus one 3-pointer, and he made one free throw (1-of-5).
The Wildcats also had nine points from Christopher Wessner with three two-pointers, one 3-pointer, plus one rebound, four assists and three steals.
Carson Hart totaled six points off two two pointers, and he was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Hart also had six rebounds and one steal. Also scoring six points was Jason Gaskins as he made three two-point baskets, plus he collected five rebounds and one assist.
Lucas Pollard had one rebound, and Conner Dickey finished with one rebound and two steals. Grady Roberts finished with a block, and Evan Richmond had one rebound and one assist.
Whiteoak’s team totals were 16 two-pointers, three 3-pointers, and they were 3-of-8 from the free-throw line. WHS also collected team totals of 17 rebounds (seven offensive), nine assists, six steals and one block.
North Adams was led by Carson Davis with 18 points and Jesse Kennedy with 14 points. NAHS also had final scoring totals of Thaddeus Moore (8), Dalton Pence (8), Colin Tolle (2), Kaleb Eldridge (4), Preston Call (6) and Maverick Winkler (2).
The Green Devils totaled 18 two-point baskets, seven 3-pointers, and they were 5-of-12 from the free-throw line. North Adams also had 30 rebounds (19 offensive rebounds), 11 assists and nine steals.
WHS is currently 6-7 overall (2-6 SHAC) following games against Fairfield and Georgetown after the game against North Adams. The Green Devils are 8-5 overall (4-4 SHAC) after two other games following this game.
