Wildcats fall to host Rockets

The past Saturday (May 10), the Southern Hills Athletic Conference showdown between the Whiteoak Wildcats and Fayetteville Rockets in Brown County saw the Rockets defeat Whiteoak, 9-3.
The Wildcats scored two runs in the top of the fourth and one run in the seventh inning. Fayetteville led the entire game with two runs in the bottom of the first, followed by a run in the second and a five-run fifth inning. FHS scored their final run in the sixth.
Whiteoak finished with five hits and no errors, while Fayetteville had seven hits and no errors.
Izayah Clift for Whiteoak was 1-for-3 with a run and a steal. Abraham Flader went 1-for-3 with a run, one walk and a steal.
Christian Hite was 1-for-3 with two RBI, as his hit was a double. Jacob Kiley ended the game at 1-for-3 with a walk. The Wildcats also had Zander Roades go 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and a steal.
Jacen Applegate finished with one RBI and a SAC fly, while Jonah Michael had two walks and a steal.
Applegate pitched four innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits and three walks with five strikeouts. Roades pitched two innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
The Wildcats are now 5-3 in the SHAC Division II standings and 8-5 overall.
