Whiteoak softball falls to Bethel-Tate and Georgetown to start ’25 season

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats opened their 2025 season on Monday with a 6-1 loss to Bethel-Tate in an away game, followed by a 13-9 loss to Georgetown on Tuesday evening at WHS. 

In Monday’s non-conference loss to BTHS, Whiteoak trailed 4-0 after there first inning, and after WHS scored a run in the top of the second, Bethel-Tate added one un in the fourth inning, then another run in the bottom of the sixth. 

In all, WHS totaled one run, two hits and committed six errors. Bethel-Tate had 10 hits and no errors. 

For Whiteoak, Oakley Engle was 1-for-3, and Janelle Clift went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Madison Davidson scored one run and forced two walks. Kylee Hamm was hit by a pitch twice, while Kylee Ruark and Janelle Clift each were hit by a pitch. Davidson and Hamm (two) had steals. 

Lily Leston pitched for WHS allowing two earned runs in six innings as she had three strikeouts and two walks in six innings. She finished with 95 pitches, 62 for strikes. 

On Tuesday, Whiteoak lost by a 13-9 score against the visiting Georgetown Lady G-Men. 

The non-conference game saw Whiteoak lead 3-0 after the first inning and they held a 6-0 lead after three innings, with a two-run second and one-run third inning. 

Georgetown scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning, then added eight runs in the top of the fifth inning. WHS scored three final runs in the bottom of the sixth. 

In all, Georgetown totaled 13 runs, 17 hits and committed no errors. Whiteoak scored nine runs, added 13 hits and committed six errors. 

Kylee Ruark was 3-for-5 for WHS with two runs. Madison Davidson went 3-for-3 (a double) with one run, two RBI and a walk. 

Whiteoak also had Charli Hauke go 1-for-5 with one run and one RBI. 

Kylee Hamm finished 2-for-3 with two runs, including a home run, with three RBI and a walk. 

Oakley Engle was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Lily Leston was 1-for-3 with one run, one RBI and a walk. 

The Lady ’Cats also had Elly McMullen finish 1-for-3 with a walk, while Janelle Clift scored two runs and walked twice. Addy Hauke finished with a walk. 

Davidson, Charli Hauke and Ruark (two) all had steals.
