Whiteoak earns win over Paint Valley

Gaining their second win of the season the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats defeated the host Paint Valley Lady Bearcats in four sets on Monday, Sept. 28 at PVHS. 

Whiteoak lost the first set at 26-24, but answered with a set two win of 25-21, a set three win at 25-22, and they won set four for the match win at 26-24. 

The match saw Whiteoak collect 22 kills, 18 assists, 17 aces, 69 digs, and eight blocks. 

Freshman Harmony Baker had two kills, one assist, one dig, and one block. Freshman Georgia Baucom finished with three kills, one ace, eight digs, and one block. 

Emily Brill, a sophomore, finished the match with four kills, eight assists, six aces, and eight digs. Senior Chanel Captain collected three kills, one ace, and six digs.

Freshman Hadley Hauke-Simmons had four kills, eight assists, and 10 digs. Freshman Madelyn Howard ended with four kills, three aces, 11 digs and six blocks. 

Sophomore Kennadi Storms totaled two kills, one assist, six aces, and 25 digs. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 29 the Lady ‘Cats lost to West Union in four sets. WUHS won set one (30-28), set three (25-14) and set four (25-18). Whiteoak gained a set two win at 25-20. 

For WHS, Storms totaled 14 kills, two assists, two aces, and 34 digs. Baker collected three kills, one assist, and seven digs. 

Baucom had two kills and 15 digs. Senior Kylee Ruark finished with three kills, one ace, and nine digs. Brill totaled four kills, 24 assists, three aces, and 18 digs. 

Captain had two kills, two aces, 15 digs, and three blocks. Howard ended the match with eight kills, two aces, 10 digs, and two blocks. 

As a team WHS totaled 37 kills, 41 assists, 10 aces, 134 digs, and five blocks. 

After the two matches, WHS had an overall record of 2-12.
