Lady ’Cats rally in 9th for walkoff win over Fayetteville

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats saved their best for the bottom of the ninth, scoring three runs to propel past the Fayetteville Lady Rockets and win by an 8-7 score for the Southern Hills Athletic. Conference victory Tuesday.
Whiteoak began the bottom of the ninth trailing by two runs at 7-5, but the determination of Whiteoak never went away, as their game-winning scoring saw Molly McMullen score a run off a single by Elly McMullen. The win came off a two-out double by Lilly Leston, with the ball traveling to centerfield, scoring Bri Hill and Janelle Clift.
In all, WHS totaled 11 hits, and had two errors, while Fayetteville finished with 15 hits and no errors.
Leston finished 3-for-4 with the double, one run and two steals.
Jaylie Parr was 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, a home run and three steals. Molly McMullen went 2-for-4 with a run and four steals.
Addy Roberts ended the day 1-for-3 with an RBI, a walk, a double and a steal. Hill scored two runs, plus had two walks and two steals.
Mattie Conrad finished with two walks and a steal, while teammate Madison Davidson was 1-for-4 with a walk. Elly McMullen went 1-for-5 with an RBI, and teammate Elena Limon was 1-for-3 with a run, a walk, and a steal. Clift scored a run and had a steal.
Hill was the winning pitcher, ending the game with nine innings in the circle. She finished allowing seven runs (six earned) on 15 hits and one walk. Hill collected 14 strikeouts, throwing 138 pitches, 97 for strikes, facing 43 batters.
