Lady ‘Cats defeat Bethel-Tate and Eastern in recent games

On Dec. 29, 2025 and Jan. 3, 2026 the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats won back-to-back games where they defeated Bethel-Tate and the Eastern Lady Warriors. 

During their non-conference game against Bethel-Tate, Whiteoak won by a 44-35 score as they held a six-point lead at the end of the first frame with a 9-3 advantage. WHS was outscored 10-7 in the second frame, but led at halftime at 16-13. 

The two teams scored a combined 35 points in the third quarter with WHS having a 19-point quarter, while Bethel-Tate scored 16 points. In the fourth quarter WHS won the frame at 9-6 for the nine-point victory. 

Kyra Boyd, a WHS senior, led the Lady Wildcats with 19 points, totaling four two-pointers and a 3-pointer, plus she was 8-of-12 from the free-throw line. Boyd also had a double-double by adding 10 rebounds (two offensive), and she collected one assist and five steals on the night. 

The road win saw sophomore Jullian Lucas total 11 points for Whiteoak. She finished the game with three two-pointers and was 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Lucas also had one rebound and one steal. 

Dinah Ames finished with five points for WHS, as she made two baskets from the field and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. She also added three rebounds, one assist and one steal. 

Peyton Gobin finished the game with three points off a 3-pointer. Teammates Chanel Captain, Ella Howard, and Libby Webster each scored two points. Captain added three rebounds and a steal, while Howard had seven rebounds and two steals. Webster finished with three rebounds and a steal. Miley Walker had one steal for Whiteoak. 

The team stats for WHS included 10 two-point baskets, two 3-pointers (Boyd, Gobin), and they were 18-of-29 from the free-throw line. WHS also collected 27 rebounds (six offensive), two assists, and 12 steals.

On Saturday, Jan. 3 at WHS the Lady Wildcats earned a big win in Southern Hills Athletic Conference action by defeating the Eastern Lady Warriors, 44-39.

The game saw WHS jump out to a six-point lead after the first frame at 13-7, then Eastern won the second frame at 8-6 for a halftime score of 19-15 with Whiteoak in the lead. 

Whiteoak scored 13 points in the third quarter while Eastern had 12 points in the same frame, then in the fourth quarter each team scored 12 points, securing Whiteoak’s five-point SHAC win. 

The Lady ‘Cats were led on the scoreboard by Jullian Lucas with 15 points, as the sophomore made three two pointers, two 3-pointers, and she was 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Lucas also had one rebound, three assists and two steals.  

Ella Howard followed with 10 points, off two 3-pointers, two two-point field goals and she also added two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. 

WHS next had Kyra Boyd with seven points off two two-point baskets, and a 3-of-6 performance from the free-throw line. Boyd also collected seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 

Chanel Captain totaled four points off a basket and she was 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. Captain had three rebounds, two assists, and one steal in the conference win. 

Also scoring four points was Libby Webster as she made two baskets from the field, and she collected five rebounds, one assist, two steals while also making one block. 

Dinah Ames finished with three points off a 3-pointer, plus had seven rebounds, one assist, two steals and a block. Peyton Gobin finished with one point as she was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Miley Walker totaled three rebounds in the win. 

WHS team totals included 10 two-pointers, five 3-pointers and they were 9-of-14 from the free-throw line. The Lady Wildcats had 26 rebounds (10 offensive), 10 assists, 10 steals, and two blocks in their final team totals. 

Eastern was led by Olivia Uhl with 11 points, Sophia Uhl with 11 points, and Alyssa Johnson with 10 points. EHS also had the following final scoring totals: Vivian Grimes (2), Addi Hauke (3), and Bentley Burns (2). 

For the game team totals for EHS included 13 two-point baskets, one 3-pointer (Hauke), and they were 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. EHS also had 27 rebounds (seven offensive), eight assists, 12 steals and three blocks. 

Since these two games were played, WHS lost to Lynchburg-Clay in SHAC action by a 43-38 score on Monday, Jan. 5 at LCHS (click here for article) and now they stand at 3-2 in the Div. II SHAC standings with an overall record of 5-2. 

Next for Whiteoak is a SHAC game on Thursday, Jan. 8 at home against the Fairfield Lady Lions, with a two-quarter JV game beginning at 6 p.m.
