Heidelberg University's fall student-athletes have really outdone themselves. Bolstered by a whopping 22 honorees from the football team, 66 Student Princes were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference recipients.

The 66 honorees were the most in any single season for Heidelberg, besting the 60 recipients last spring. Additionally, the previous high-water mark for fall honorees was 51, set in 2022.

Among this fall’s recipients was men’s soccer player Trey Pitzer of Lynchburg, a sophomore at Heidelberg and a graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School.

To earn Academic All-OAC honors, a student-athlete must earn a 3.495+ cumulative grade point average through the semester completed prior to the start of the season. Additionally, individuals must be varsity players. First-year students are not eligible for the award.

Football shattered their previous best of 16 honorees, set in unusual 2020-21 season. The men's soccer team also set a new high, with 12 players earning the academic laurels. Their previous best was eight in 2022.
