Lady Mustangs earn shutout win over West Union
The Lynchburg-Clay softball team gained a Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory Saturday (April 20) by defeating the host West Union Lady Dragons, 10-0 at WUHS.
LCHS in the SHAC win totaled 12 hits and had just one error, while WUHS had four hits and seven errors.
The Lady Mustangs (6-6) saw Madison Baker finish 2-for-3 with two runs, and two RBI in the SHAC win. Madison McMullen was 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
LCHS also had Autumn Griffith go 1-for-3, Noel Barnhill at 1-for-3 and Miranda Smith end her day at 1-for-1 with one RBI.
Also for the Lady Mustangs, Brya McClain was 1-for-2 with one run; Sophia Michael was 1-for-3 with one run; and Caitlyn Collins was 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Lynchburg-Clay also had Kami Collins finish 1-for-2 with a run, and Jazzy Brown go 1-for-3 with one run. Avery Blankenship collected one RBI.
Doubles for LCHS included Kami Collins, Baker, McMullen and Barnhill. Caitlyn Collins and Smith each had a steal.
Barnhill pitched two innings, allowing no runs on one hit and two walks with four strikeouts. Brown pitched three innings, allowing three hits, no runs and one walk.
