Fairfield Lady Lions, Whiteoak Wildcats win SHAC Track and Field Championships

The Fairfield Lady Lions scored 130 points en route to the 2023 girls Southern Hills Athletic Conference championship Friday at Fairfield High School, while the Whiteoak Wildcats earned the boys SHAC title with 152.75 points.

SHAC champions for Fairfield girls included Hallie Haines in the high jump event with a height of 4-8. Haines also won the 400m dash with a time of 1:00.82, a new PR for the senior.

Also for Fairfield, Paris Priest won the girls shot put at 33-4.25.

Fairfied’s 4x400m relay team of  Avery Teeters, Kennedy Zink, Hallie Haines and Faith Donley were the winners with a time of 4:25.72.

The Whiteoak girls 4x200-meter relay team of Adroanna Phillips, Claire Ames, Reagan Newton and Kylee Hamm won with a time of 1:58.87.

Lynchburg-Clay’s girls 4x100m relay team of Samantha Merry, Autumn Wilkin, Erin Dickman and Olivia VanFleet won with a time of 55.30.

For the boys winners, Whiteoak won the 4x800m relay race with a team of Wade Evans, Evan DeAtley, Landen Eyre and Weston Blair winning with a time of 9:01.54.

Eyre won the 1600m relay race with a first-place time of  4:37.23. He also won the 800m run with a time of 2:02.67, a new PR. Eyre won a third individual championship, the 3200m run with a time of 10:42.02.

Whiteoak’s Bryce Vanhoy had a winning time of 44.92 in the 300m hurdles race, a new PR.

Final girls team results were: Fairfield (130), Eastern (103), North Adams (80), West Union (69), Peebles (65), Whiteoak (49), Lynchburg-Clay (48), Fayetteville (32) and Manchester (30).

Final boys team results were: Whiteoak (152.75), North Adams (150.50), Peebles (132.75), Eastern (58), Fairfield (44), Manchester (23), Fayetteville (21), West Union (17),  Lynchburg-Clay (13) and Ripley (3).
