Lady Indians tennis wins 4-1 against Chillicothe

Playing at the Cavalier Athletic Center on Tuesday (Aug. 11), the Hillsboro Lady Indians defeated the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers 4-1 in their Frontier Athletic Conference match, giving HHS two wins in their first three contests of the season.

HHS began with senior Adalyn Gaines winning in first singles over junior Reese Miller by scores of 6-2, 6-4, followed by a third singles win by sophomore Breanna Anderson (HHS) against sophomore Avadia Knight (CHS) at 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Hillsboro won both doubles matches in the FAC event as the first doubles team of senior Ciara Woods and sophomore Kaylin Branscom defeated Chillicothe sophomore Sophia Montalvo and freshman Ellie Montalvo by scores of 6-1, 6-0.

The second doubles team of HHS juniors Lilah Hardy and Kamrie Lee were winners against Chillicothe sophomores Sophia McAdams and R. Nelson at 6-4, 7-5.

In second singles, HHS junior Taylor-Ann Scruggs fell to CHS sophomore Marley Lovett 4-6, 4-6.
