Lady Indians shut out WCH, fall to MTHS in FAC matches

The Hillsboro Lady Indians faced the Washington Lady Blue Lions on Thursday, then later in the week on Saturday hosted the Miami Trace Lady Panthers in Frontier Athletic Conference matches.
On Thursday (Sept. 17) Hillsboro won on the road by a 14-0 score against the host Washington Lady Blue Lions at WHS.
Senior Arianna Evans scored four goals in the win for HHS, while adding two assists. Junior Ella Jordan had a hat-trick with three goals in the win.
HHS also had two goals scored by sophomore Cathleen Smart, and scoring one goal each were sophomore Ellie Brandyberry, freshman Harper Couser, sophomore Emarey Schurman, freshman Mati Vaughn, and sophomore Parker Wilkin.
Assists were credited to Brandyberry, Evans (two), Vaughn, Parker Wilkin (three), and Piper Wilkin (two). At keeper in the shutout was junior Morgan Kelch.
Hillsboro totaled 17 shots in the match with seven shots on goal.
On Saturday (Sept. 19) the Lady Indians hosted the Miami Trace Lady Panthers in a makeup match where MTHS won by a 2-1 score.
Hillsboro’s lone goal was scored by sophomore Parker Wilkin as the goal was unassisted. HHS finished with 15 shots in the match with seven shots on goal.
HHS senior keeper Phoebe Holland totaled eight saves against MTHS.
The Lady Indians now have an overall record of 5-3-0 with a FAC record of 2-1-0.
