Hillsboro Lady Indians finish undefeated in FAC

Last week the Hillsboro Lady Indians clinched the 2025 Frontier Athletic Conference championship after winning their seventh games in conference play. On Tuesday night (Sept. 16) the Lady Indians finished undefeated in FAC competition for the '25 season. 

For the season, the Lady Indians — who are coaches by LaRue Turner — are undefeated overall at 12-0. 

Tuesday (Sept. 16) the Lady Indians traveled to Ross County and faced the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers in FAC play, winning the event at 5-0, as they won all five events played in varsity action. 

Hillsboro for the FAC season finishes 8-0, as the FAC championship is their first girls tennis championship since 2002. In eight FAC matches this season the Lady Indians finish at 34-6 overall in individual and doubles matches. 

As for the match on Tuesday against CHS, Hillsboro's Jenna Hart won by scores of 6/2, 6/0 in first singles. 

Hillsboro second singles player Adalyn Gaines also won by scores of 6/2, 6/0.

The third singles match the Lady Indians won via forfeit.

In first doubles the team of Natalie Tharp and Taylor-Ann Scruggs won at 6/0, 6/1. In second doubles, Kamrie Lee and Lilah Hardy of HHS won at 6/3, 6/2.

The previous evening the Lady Indians won a non-conference game against Georgetown by a 5-0 score on Monday, Sept. 15.

In singles action, Adalyn Gaines won 6/2, 6/4 in first singles, while in second singles Natalie Tharp won at 6/3, 6/1. In third singles competition, Taylor-Ann Scruggs won at 6/3, 1/6, 6/3.

Doubles matches saw Ciara Woods and Lilah Hardy win in first doubles at 6/1, 6/1. In second doubles, Breanna Anderson and Kaylin Branscom won for Hillsboro at 6/1, 6/2.
