Hillsboro collects 23 runs in win over Miami Trace
It was another day at the office for the Hillsboro Lady Indians in Frontier Athletic Conference action with the home team HHS squad defeating the visiting Miami Trace Lady Panthers, 23-1 at Alice Cassner Field.
HHS scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first for an 11-0 lead, and from there they coasted to the win with a four-run second inning, followed by two runs in the third and six runs in the fourth. MTHS scored their lone run in the top of the fifth.
MTHS totaled two hits and committed three errors, and the Lady Indians collected 17 hits and had no errors.
Halle Reveal was unstoppable at the plate against Miami Trace as she was 4-of-5 with four runs, three RBI and a steal.
Camryn Spruell finished 3-for-4 with four runs, a double, one RBI and one walk. Kinsey Gilliland finished 2-for-3 with two runs, six RBI, two doubles and a walk. Addie Huff was 2-for-3 with one run, five RBI and a steal.
Chloe Page was 2-for-3 with three runs, one RBI and a walk. Rhianna Clemons finished 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and one RBI.
Eowyn Brown was 1-for-2 in the win with three runs, three RBI, one walk, a HBP and a steal. Isabelle Brunck ended the game at 1-for-3 with a run, one RBI and two steals.
Also for the Lady Indians, Morgan Garman had an RBI, Brylee Thornburgh forced a walk and Hannah Burton had two runs, one walk and was hit by a pitch.
Spruell was the winning pitcher, finishing the game with one earned run allowed on two hits and two walks in five innings, striking out 11 batters.
HHS improves to 17-2 overall this season.
