Indians take non-conference game against McClain

In their third meeting of the 2025 season, a non-conference game, the Hillsboro Indians defeated the McClain Tigers by an 11-1 score at Mitchell Park in Greenfield on Monday, May 12.
On what was McClain’s senior night, the Tigers finished the game with four hits with no errors, and scored their run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
McClain had Connor Chandler finish 1-for-3 with a run and a walk. Hunter Peabody ended the day at 1-for-4 with an RBI. Kolton Lamb finished 1-for-3, and Easton Ary was 1-for-2 with a walk. Hudson Lovett and Colton McNeal each also forced a walk. Cohen Six, Alex Perie and McNeal all were hit by a pitch.
Seniors for McClain are: Cohen Six, Connor McCune and Alex Perie.
As for the Indians — who won two of the three games played this season — they took a three-run lead in the top of the second inning, followed with another three runs in the top of the third for a 6-0 lead. HHS added a run in the fifth, then tacked on a run in the sixth, and three final runs in the top of the seventh inning.
For the game, Hillsboro totaled 13 hits and committed two errors.
Luke Holland led Hillsboro at the plate by finishing 3-for-4 with a run. Brady Juillerat went 2-for-4 with four RBI.
With one hit each for the Indians were Zach Brown (1-for-4, one walk), Walker Pence (1-for-5, one run), Nate Lane (1-for-4, one run, one RBI, one walk), Brayden Hunter (1-for-2, one run), Dylan Bender (1-for-1, two runs, two RBI, one walk), Wesley Bailey (1-for-3, double, two runs, one walk), Brody Kelch (1-for-3, two runs, two RBI, one walk), and Jeven Hochstuhl (1-for-3, one run, one RBI, one walk).
Lane was the winning pitcher, pitching five strong innings, allowing one run (unearned) on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Juillerat pitched two scoreless innings, allowing no runs on no hits and one walk with one strikeout.
The win put HHS at 6-12 overall. McClain's record following the game went to 4-11 overall.
