Golf: Jackson wins ’26 boys FAC championship; Chillicothe takes home FAC girls championship
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Frontier Athletic Conference held their 2026 Boys and Girls Golf Championships with the Jackson Ironmen winning the boys crown, while the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers were crowned the girls champions for the conference.
The boys results for the Tuesday (Sept. 15) event saw JHS win the title with a score of 317, followed by the Miami Trace Panthers, who were second place with a 333 score. Chillicothe was third in the boys event with a score of 337, followed by Washington (339), Hillsboro (346) and McClain (383).
Winning the boys individual championship was Jackson sophomore Colt Cross with a score of 72.
McClain’s top placer was junior Connor Chandler with a score of 79 for fifth place overall. Hillsboro’s top placer was sophomore Hunter Seeling with a seventh-place score of 81.
The rest of McClain’s scores included: junior Zander Lyons (88), junior Matthew Cummins (101), junior Rilan Ballein (115) and freshman Haydn Faulconer (142).
Hillsboro’s remaining scores included: senior Conner Kelch (84), sophomore Kyle Thoroman (90), senior Charlie Stark (91), senior Logan Barton (96) and junior Brody Kelch (98).
In the girls FAC event, Chillicothe won the championship with a score of 384, followed in second place by Miami Trace at 447 for second place. In third was Jackson (450), followed by Hillsboro and McClain each scoring 483, with HHS winning the fourth-place tiebreaker, putting MHS in fifth place overall. Washington didn’t have a team score but had a 372 score.
The individual girls FAC champion was Chillicothe freshman Allie Johnson with a score of 86.
McClain’s top placer was senior Hailey Cornett with a score of 111, while Hillsboro’s top placer was senior Carey Skeens, also with a score of 111 as the two tied for ninth place overall.
More scores for Hillsboro included: sophomore Raeden Workman (115), freshman Kaydence Butler (126), junior Brianna Foxx (131) and junior Ella Walch (132).
More McClain scores included: freshman Stella Henson (119), senior Autumn Uhrig (125), freshman Palmer Mitchell (128), freshman Zoe Zink (132) and sophomore Carly Buhrman (135).
