McClain fifth and fourth place in opening FAC boys golf matches
The McClain boys golf team traveled to Washington Court House on Monday (Aug. 4) to compete in the first two matches of the Frontier Athletic Conference season at The Greens, finishing in fifth place in the first match (hosted by Washington) and fourth place in the second match (hosted by Miami Trace).
McClain in the FAC No. 1 match — a fifth place finish — hosted by Washington saw Carter Nelson card a score of 38, tying him for second place in the event.
Next for the Tigers was Connor Chandler with a score of 43, and then for McClain it was Carson Chandler with a score of 47. Also finishing with a score in the 40s was Logan Knisley with a score of 49. McClain’s Zander Lyons and Noah Switzer each had a score of 52 in the FAC No. 1 match.
The FAC No. 2 match hosted by Miami Trace at the Greens saw MHS finish in fourth place. Carter Nelson finished with a score of 40, tying him for a seventh place finish.
McClain’s Connor Chandler tied for 10th place with a score of 41, while Carson Chandler was next with a score of 42.
The Tigers also had two more scores in the 40s as Logan Knisley finished with a 44 score and Noah Switzer carded a 47 score in the FAC No. 2 match. MHS saw Zander Lyons finish with a score of 50 in the FAC No. 2 event.
