McClain drops road game to FAC first-place Jackson

In a five-inning game on Tuesday (May 6), the McClain Tigers lost to Frontier Athletic Conference foe, the Jackson Ironmen by a 12-2 score.
Jackson struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning, but the Tigers tied the score with two runs in the top of the second for a 2-2 score.
Neither team scored a run in the third, but the fourth and fifth innings were all Jackson, including an eight-run bottom of the fourth, followed with two final runs in the fifth inning.
Jackson ended the game with six hits and one error, and the Tigers had five hits and four errors.
Hunter Peabody led the Tigers at 2-for-3 from the plate with one of his two hits being a double. Conner Chandler was 1-for-3 with an RBI, while teammate and brother Carson Chandler was 1-for-2.
Kolton Lamb finished 1-for-2 with a run and a steal. The Tigers also had Hudson Lovett draw a walk, plus have a steal. Matthew Cummings scored a run and walked once.
Cohen Six had the loss on the mound, finishing with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings pitched. He allowed four hits, six earned runs, and walked three batters. Peabody pitched one inning, walking two batters, while allowing two earned runs. Eli Douglas also pitched in relief, where he allowed two hits, two earned runs and a walk.
McClain now stands at 4-10 overall, with a FAC record of 2-7. Jackson improves to 7-0 in the FAC and 17-0 overall.
