Lady Tigers gain recent wins against Clinton-Massie, Piketon and Goshen

Lady Tigers win at Clinton-Massie

The McClain Lady Tigers defeated the Clinton-Massie Lady Falcons on Monday, Jan. 13 in a non-conference game, winning by a 47-23 score at CMHS.

Playing against their former South Central Ohio League rival, the Lady Tigers won the first frame at 14-5, and then they outscored the Lady Falcons, 14-2 for a halftime advantage of 28-7.

The second half saw the Lady Tigers add 10 points in the third quarter and nine more points in the fourth frame. CMHS in the second half scored six points in the third, followed by 10 points in the fourth quarter.

McClain was led in scoring by Larah Henson with 18 points, totaling five two-point baskets, two 3-pointers, and she was 2-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Paisley Pryor finished with two two-pointers, two 3-pointers and she went 3-of-6 from the free-throw line, as she ended the game with 15 points.

MHS also had six points from Lindsey Hutchinson, as she made two 3-pointers, and scoring four points was Brie Cummins off two baskets.

The Lady Tigers saw Anna Eikenberry and Leah Lovett each score two points in the win.

CMHS was led by Azlynn Green with eight points.

MHS team totals included 12 two-point baskets, six 3-pointers, and they were 5-of-12 from the free-throw line.

Clinton-Massie finished with team totals of nine two-point baskets, one 3-pointer, and they were 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.

McClain gains non-conference win against Piketon

The McClain Lady Tigers went on the road and earned a 58-53 victory by defeating the Piketon Redstreaks.

McClain outscored Piketon 10-7 in the first quarter, and following a second frame where MHS scored 15 points and Piketon scored 17 points, it was MHS leading 25-24 at halftime.

The second half saw a third frame where MHS won the frame at 19-15, and in the fourth quarter each team scored 14 points.

Anna Eikenberry was the scoring leader in the game for MHS with 21 points. Eikenberry finished the game with 10 two-point baskets and was 1-of-4 from the free-throw line.

Larah Henson scored 11 points, totaling two two-pointers, two 3-pointers, and she was 1-of-3 in her free-throw attempts.

The Lady Tigers also had eight points from Paisley Pryor, as she made four two-point buckets.

There was also a seven-point game from Lindsay Hutchinson, who made two 3-pointers and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Also for McClain, Brenna Wright scored five points off two two-point buckets and she went 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. Teammate Katie Cook finished with four points, making a 3-pointer and she went 1-of-2 with her free-throw attempts.

McClain also had one point each by Brie Cummins and Leah Lovett.

MHS team totals included 18 two-point baskets, five 3-pointers, and they was 7-of-18 from the free-throw line.

Piketon totaled 15 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers, and they went 14-of-21 in their free-throw attempts.

McClain tops Goshen at Eastern Brown Shootout

Saturday afternoon the McClain Lady Tigers played at the 2025 Eastern Brown Shootout where they defeated the Goshen Lady Warriors, 46-30 for a non-conference victory.

The Lady Tigers saw Paisley Pryor lead the way with 22 points, making six 3-pointers with two each in the second and third frames, plus one each in the first and fourth quarters.
She also tacked on two two-point baskets in the fourth frame.

Also adding points to the scoring column for MHS were Larah Henson with four points (including a 3-pointer and FT), and Brie Cummins finished with seven points as she made two 3-pointers and a free throw.

Brenna Wright totaled had two points off two made free throws, Anna Eikenberry finished with nine points (four two-pointers, one FT), and Leah Lovett ended the game with two points.

MHS scored 11 points in the first quarter, then followed that with 13 points in the second. In the first half for GHS, they scored eight points in the first frame and 12 points in the second quarter. At halftime, McClain led 24-20.

McClain’s second half saw them score nine points in the third and 13 points in the fourth frame. Goshen had four points in the third and six points in the fourth quarter.
