McClain Lady Tigers gain 27-point win at Washington
Wednesday was a winning time for the McClain Lady Tigers, as they gained a Frontier Athletic Conference victory over the host Washington Lady Blue Lions, 50-23 at Washington High School.
Traveling to Fayette County for their FAC season debut, the Lady Tigers wasted little time showcasing their skills in conference action by winning the first frame at 18-7, followed by an 11-8 second frame in their favor for a halftime lead of 29-15.
MHS really took the game over in the third with a 14-point frame, while Washington was held to three points, and in the fourth quarter MHS outscored the Lady Blue Lions 7-5.
Anna Eikenberry led MHS with 16 points, while next was Paisley Pryor with 15 points.
The rest of the MHS scoring included Larah Henson with eight points, Brenna Wright with four points, Karlee McGlone with four points and Lindsey Hutchinson with three points.
The win improves McClain to 3-1 overall, and they are 1-0 in the FAC. Washington drops to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the FAC.

Fairfield loses at home to Georgetown
Continuing to improve with each game played, the Fairfield Lady Lions were unable to gain the win Wednesday, falling to the Georgetown Lady G-Men by a 57-44 score.
Georgetown led 10-8 at the conclusion of the first frame, and each team scored double figures in the second quarter with GHS scoring 19 points and Fairfield tallying 13 points for a halftime score of 29-21 with the Lady G-Men in front.
In the third quarter played at Grandle Gymnasium in Leesburg, Fairfield was outscored 10-9 and in the fourth Georgetown won the frame at 18-14.
Meri Jackson was the leading scorer for Fairfield with 15 points, plus she added 10 rebounds for a double-double. Jackson also had two assists and two steals.
Isabelle Hale finished with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and five steals. Kassi Miller totaled six points (one 3-pointer), two rebounds, one assist and four steals. Jaeden Drury finished with six points, two rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Also for Fairfield, Vivian Henninger ended the game with three points, three rebounds, one assist and one block. Rilee Quickle totaled two points, three rebounds, two assists and six steals.
Addison Cannon finished with two points and four rebounds. Also with two points was Paisley Stahlhut.
At the free-throw line, Fairfield was 11-of-22, while team totals also included 28 rebounds (10 offensive), nine assists, 19 steals and one block.
The loss moves Fairfield to 0-4 overall.

Lynchburg-Clay battles to 10-point win at Blanchester
Going on the road for a non-conference game on Wednesday, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs defeated the host Blanchester Lady Wildcats of the SBAAC by a 43-33 score.
In the win at Blanchester High School, the Lady Mustangs led by one point when the first quarter came to a close by a 15-14 score. Blanchester won the second frame at 11-9 and took a one-point halftime lead at 25-24 after two quarters of action.
LC’s defense was strong in the third quarter, keeping BHS to four points and the Lady Mustangs’ offense added 13 points, taking a 37-29 lead after three quarters.
The Lady Mustangs kept the lead for good in the fourth, outscoring the Lady ’Cats 6-4 in the final frame for the 10-point win.
In the scoring column, Allie Waits led LCHS with 11 points while collecting three rebounds, and four steals.
Madison McMullen totaled nine points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals in the non-conference win. Adilyn Carraher finished with eight points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals and a block.
Also in the scoring column for LCHS was Savannah Bell with five points, while she also had six rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Ava McLaughlin ended the game with four points, one rebound and one steal. Lily Ferguson had four points, three assists and two steals. Joslyn Rockey totaled two points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
LCHS as a team totaled two 3-pointers (Carraher, Bell), 26 rebounds (11 offensive), nine assists, 13 steals and one block.
The win moves LCHS to 2-1 overall, and they are 1-1 in the SHAC.
