After 58 years with Candle-lite in Leesburg, John Witham worked his last full day with the company on Thursday, July 11.

Witham began his career in 1966 and has held many positions throughout the company, including Plant Manager. He brought the first compressed over dipped pillar production line into Candle-lite and has developed expertise in formulation and troubleshooting of hydraulic compression, rotary taper molding, over dips, wick waxing, dipped tapers, extrusion, rotary compression and glass filling. Witham’s proprietary glass fill blends were used for many years by Candle-lite and helped define the industry standard for cosmetic fill wax.

Witham has been an active member of the National Candle Association since its inception in 1974.  He was inducted into the NCA Hall of Fame in 2017 and was given the Candle-lite Lifetime Award in 2015.

Witham plans on kicking back and enjoying the next chapter of life with his wife, Marty, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
