Strokes for Strokes raises $2,100
By KRIS DONLEY, RN
Adena Greenfield Medical Center
The annual Strokes for Strokes golf tournament welcomed 80 participants who enjoyed 18 holes of golf to raise $2,100 for the Adena Greenfield Medical Center’s Stroke rehabilitation program. Proceeds from this tournament will be used to purchase educational materials for the center’s stroke library that features helpful post-recovery information for stroke survivors and their families.
Following a fun-filled day of golf, the participants enjoyed an awards ceremony and dinner donated by Life Ambulance. A number of prizes were awarded including front row Cincinnati Reds Tickets donated by Edgington Funeral Homes, gift cards to local restaurants and other valuable prizes.
This year’s tournament winner with a score of 60 was the team sponsored by Merchants National Bank, including Blaine Bergstrom, Eric Wise, Mike Zint and Mark Hunter. The second place team with a score of 61 was the team sponsored by Adena Health System Administration. The third place team with a score of 62 was the team sponsored by Premier Health Services.
The Strokes for Strokes golf tournament is held in May each year to raise funds and awareness for the AGMC Stroke Rehabilitation program. The rehab program at AGMC is the only stroke specialized unit in Adena’s 10 county service area. “We are very proud of this program and the benefit it brings to our surrounding communities.” said Kris Donley. “We would like to thank all of the golfers, donors, and volunteers that helped make this year’s event a success.”
