On Aug. 2, the neighborhood of Woodland Drive, Jan Lynn Lane, Newkirk Drive, Timber Lane, Hickory Hill Drive and Wildey Drive held a community meeting in hopes of starting a neighborhood watch program to help deter crime in their neighborhood.
Amelia Robinson organized the neighborhood gathering. It was well attended by about 50 to 55 concerned friends and neighbors. Also in attendance was Sergeant Donnie Barrera of the Highland County Sheriff Office, who presented the neighborhood with many useful suggestions as to how to get the neighborhood watch program organized.
