Senior Investment Club meets at Senior Center

By
Suzanne Hopkins-
Senior Investment Club
There will be an invitation to join a Senior Investment Club the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Morgan-Bodenhamer Senior Center, 185 Muntz Street, Hillsboro. This year’s officers are Hank Thompson, president; Carolyn Walker, secretary; and Norma Jane Morrow, treasurer.
The club was formed 12 years ago to learn more about investing in the stock market while enjoying the fellowship of other seniors. They now have openings for new members.
Anyone interested in learning more about the club is invited to attend the next meeting, scheduled for April 5, 2011.
    For more information, call 466-2874.
Free dental clinic
The Highland County Morgan-Bodenhamer Senior Center will host a dental clinic on April 25.
The clinic is sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, Dist. 7, Inc. and will be done by senior dental program residents from the Ohio State University School of Dentistry.
The clinic is free to those age 60 and older. Services available include cleaning, filling, extractions and denture repair. Call the Center at 383-4745 to schedule your appointment. The dentists will begin seeing patients at 11:30 a.m. Plan to arrive 30 minutes ahead of your appointment, as there is some paper work you will need to complete before seeing the dentist.
Prescription transfers
As of Jan. 1, 2011, Ohioans are allowed to transfer a prescription from one pharmacy to another just once per year.
The Ohio State Board of Pharmacy made the change after pharmacists complained about the potential for miscommunication during transfers.
Many pharmacies offer incentives for patients to transfer their prescriptions to them, such as $10 coupons or even $25 gift cards.
Critics of the new rule say that it limits competition among retailers and benefits retail drug chains.[[In-content Ad]]
