Though our membership year now is on a calendar year, it’s not too early to “Be-New or Re-New.” Beat the rush and sign up now and you’ll get an extra two months for your yearly $20 dues.
Membership at the Highland County Senior Center entitles you to participate in all the activities, go on exciting trips, take advantage of a broad range of services (see below for more information on services available) and purchase a delicious lunch for only $3.
Already a member? Bring a friend when you come in to renew your membership, show them around and invite them to join.
Also, we’d like to remind you that membership makes a thoughtful gift for a birthday or anniversary. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop in and renew or join the Center today.
Guide to Center Services
For information about any of the services listed below, call the Center at 937-393-4745.
• Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage) open enrollment starts Nov. 15. If you have questions about coverage or enrollment, call the Center to schedule an appointment.
• Notary Public services are available at the Center Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. See Suzanne or Wanda in the front office. This service is available to the public.
• Blood pressure – 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, provided by the Highland County Health Department.
• Blood sugar and blood pressure testing – at the Birthday Dinner each month by Genesis Oxygen.
• Hearing tests, 4th Thursday by appointment, Timothy Cross of Earzlink.
• Social Security representatives are at the Center the third Wednesday of each month from 9 a.m.-noon. No appointment is necessary, you are seen by number. Next dates for Social Security are Nov. 17 and Dec. 15.
• The Center provides home delivered meals to seniors in Hillsboro. Hot meals are delivered five days a week and microwaveable frozen meals are delivered on Fridays for weekends. Meals are $3.75 per day, billed monthly. Seniors who meet income and other eligibility criteria may be able to get their meals partially subsidized through the Center’s Angel Fund or completely paid for through the AAA 7’s PASSPORT program. If you or a senior you know would be interested in receiving lunches, or for PASSPORT information please call the Center.
• We are happy to provide links and referrals to other agencies and programs offering such services as transportation, home delivered meals outside Hillsboro, emergency HEAP, legal services and more.[[In-content Ad]]
