On Sunday, March 27, 2011, Premier Showmen 4-H Club held their meeting at the 4-H Food Booth. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ethan and Kaylee led us in the 4-H Pledge.
We started the meeting by a game called "Honey, I love you, but I just can't smile." In our old business, we reviewed the Vice President's report, the Secretary's report and the Treasurer's report. Becca presented a safety report about farm safety. For our member activity report, Larkyn, Becca, Lauren, and Lydia attended the Beef Expo. Kaylee attended the Banbury Lamb Camp. In old business, we discussed the Officer and Advisor Conference; we recognized Becca, Kaylee, and Courtney for attending the conference. We also recognized Charity for representing our club as and applicant for Pork Queen. We talked about the theme for the fair and if anyone was interested in turning a theme it needed to be done at this meeting. Those who had not signed our By-Laws needed to do so at this meeting.
We had three members give a demonstration. Larkyn gave a demonstration
on how to clean your boots. Lauren and Megan both gave demonstrations on how to make play dough.
In new business, we talked discussed the upcoming fundraisers that the
community was having for 4-H. We went over the Quality Assurance Dates,
times, and places there were going to be held. We went over the fair changes for 2011. We had a discussion about the Ohio Donor Gilt Program; to qualify you need to write an essay on why you would like to own spotted gilt.
We ended our meeting with Larkyn presenting a game on how to re-use
feed bags. Becca motioned to adjourn the meeting, while Megan seconded the
motion.
