New Vienna Lions Club to host poker tournament

The New Vienna Lions Club will host an afternoon of poker, food, and fun to support improvements in their community. Beginning with registration at noon on Saturday, Jan. 15, the public is invited to play Texas Hold-Em and enjoy great food with others.
“It’s about having fun and learning the game,” says Club member Kasey Smith.
All proceeds will be contributed to the town’s Community Fund. This will be used to support the library and other worthy improvements (www.newvienna.net).
The event will be held at the New Vienna Municipal Building, located downtown at 94 West Main Street. This is a different location from last year’s tournament. The Municipal Building is located three doors up from the bank downtown.
The entry fee is $25 for adults 18 and older, which includes plenty of food for all players, provided by Shoelaces Catering. The final three players will take home cash prizes. Immediately following registration at noon, card playing begins at 1 p.m.
