New Petersburg Social Civic Club holds Christmas meeting

The New Petersburg Social Civic Club met at the Rainsboro United Methodist Church at noon for their Christmas meeting. The officers were the hostesses, and the tables were decorated in a holiday theme.
President Debbie Robinson held a short meeting. Program books for 2011 were distributed to the ladies. Debbie Ellison was thanked for doing a great job of organizing the books.
A donation was made to needy children. Members brought hats, mittens, gloves, and napkins for the food baskets. A collection was taken for the food pantry. Members also brought gifts to be given to the rest home.
A birthday raffle was brought by Ellison and won by Verla Hodson. Members drew names for Secret Sisters for 2011.
The meeting was adjourned, and Ellison delivered grace before the luncheon. The men of the church served a delicious meal of cranberry salad, baked chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, noodles, and a dessert. It was enjoyed by all. After the meal, this year's Secret Sisters were revealed as they passed out their gifts.
Members present were Janet Campbell, Margaret Crabtree, Vickie Duff, Ellison, Wanda Greene, Cora Hamilton, Hodson, Mary Ann Larkin, Janet Lawwell, Anna Lou Lucas, Phyllis Miller, Bea Mustard, Robinson, Glenna Ross, Chris Tolbert, and Ruth Ann Watts.
The New Year will begin with a luncheon at the Rainsboro United Methodist Church with Ellison as hostess. Members are asked to bring a "Thinking of You" card.
