Wanda Greene was hostess as the members of the New Petersburg Social Civic Club met at the Rainsboro United Methodist Church for their October meeting.
Debbie Robinson called the meeting to order. Greene read the minutes from the previous meeting. They were approved as read. Members answered roll call by naming their favorite apple. Vickie Duff had the treasurer's report. A donation of $50 was given to both the Fall Friends Church and the Rainsboro United Methodist Church for the Shoe Box Ministry.
October is Talent Month, so members brought a talent or a white elephant to be auctioned. Debbie Ellison and Robinson served as auctioneers. A fun time was had by all.
Next year's president, Janet Campbell, went over the 2011 Program Booklets and corrections were made.
Debbie Ellison had the contest. It was won by Patty Detty, who also won the hostess gift.
Members receiving Secret Sister gifts were Margaret Crabtree, Detty, Cora Hamilton, Robinson, Phyllis Miller, Janet Lawwell, and Bea Mustard.
Winners of the birthday raffle were Mary Ann Larkin, Mustard, Campbell, Detty, and Malinda Wells.
Fall decorations graced the tables, and delicious refreshments were served to Duff, Greene, Robinson, Detty, Crabtree, Ellison, Hamilton, Verla Hodson, Larkin, Lawwell, Anna Lou Lucas, Mustard, Ruth Ann Watts, Wells, Campbell, Miller, and guests Marian Dodds and Chris Tolbert.
Members are reminded to meet at the Highland House Museum at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29 to decorate a room for the Christmas holidays.
The next meeting will be held at Edgewood Manor in Greenfield on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.
