Lynchburg Village Christmas marks 18th season Dec. 10-11

Lynchburg is busy preparing for its annual Village Christmas. This marks the 18th year for the event, which is held the second weekend in December (Dec. 10-11).
Many village residents open their homes to the public to offer such diverse items as secret family recipe baked goods to arts and crafts items made within the village.
This year’s event is being chaired by Bill McTague. He and his wife, Angie, are owners of the Lynchburg Antique Mall. McTague credits the success of the event to the homes and shops and local businesses who support this event, such as the Homebuilders Association of Lynchburg, who has graciously donated a new color TV to be given away as a grand prize for the raffle.
In an effort to get people to visit all the shops and homes, each person may fill out one raffle ticket at each home or shop. For instance, if there are 20 participating homes and shops and a person visits all 20, he or she will have 20 chances to win the color TV.
This year, because the carriage rides were such a success, they will be featured on Friday from 3-7 p.m. as well as Saturday, with the Saturday hours extended to 8 p.m.
Along with the free raffle from the Homebuilders Association, Murphy
Hardware, one of the oldest hardware stores in southern Ohio, will also also be having a free raffle for a Blue Max combo chain saw. (Must be 18 years old to register.)
