It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at the Leesburg Library. Please stop in and share some holiday cheer with us during December.
Our Knit Together group will meet on Thursday December 2, 9, and 16 from 5:30-7 p.m. Bring your current project and join us for some conversation and knitting.
The Leesburg Library Merry Money Store will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. Please bring your child and their Merry Money during your pre-assigned shopping time to purchase gifts. The elves will be here to assist your children with their Christmas shopping while parents can enjoy browsing the library and munching on some holiday refreshments.
Dawna Jo Kiesling from the Highland County Extension Office will be here from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 to share tips on holiday cooking and visit again with us on Thursday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon.
SPARX (Teen Book Group) will meet on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. for their Christmas gathering. Books being discussed are "Tangled" by Carolyn Mackler and "Stay with Me" by Garret Freymann-Weyr. Pizza and other treats will be served. We hope you will join us for some holiday fun!
The Leesburg Library will be hosting the presentation of the King and Queen during the Leesburg Luminaria festivities on Sunday, Dec. 12. The presentation begins at 5:45 p.m. with open house receptions following at the library and area businesses until 7 p.m. A community church service will be held at the Leesburg United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. Please stop in for some refreshments and fellowship!
RRR will meet on Thursday, Dec. 16 at 1:30 p.m. Discussion book is reader’s choice.
Story times continue on Thursdays. This month’s themes include Cookie Monsters, All I Want for Christmas and ‘Twas the Week Before Christmas. There will be no story times on Dec 23, 30 and Jan. 6. Story times will resume on Thursday, Jan. 13. Wee Ones (6-36 months) meet at 10 a.m.; Tater Tots (3-5 yrs) meet at 10:30 a.m.
The Library will be closed Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays. Please use our outdoor book drop when returning items on days we are closed. We at the Leesburg Library would like to take this opportunity to wish all our patrons a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Come and visit us soon.
