Hillsboro Emblem Club holds April meeting

The Hillsboro Emblem Club met on April 12 with 13 members in attendance. The meeting was conducted in ritualistic form. Reports were given and an article was read about the Civil War which began on April 12, 1861. A report was given on the State Meeting held in Toledo.

Members from Hillsboro brought home 30 gifts from the Embola drawing, which was held for the benefit of State Scholarship Awards.  

Elections were held and the new officers for the 2011-2012 year are as follows:

Chairman of Trustees - Christa Abbott
1st Assist. Marshal - Jan Vosper

Historian - Margery Barney
1st Guard - Leslie Ramsey
Press Corresp. - Leslie Ramsey
Organist - Elinor Cornelius
Marshal - Diana Jones
Corresp. Secr. - Emilie Dunnagan

Installation of officers will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011.

The club voted to provide refreshments and Easter eggs for the Hills and Dales Training Center. Monetary gifts were given to Our Daily Bread, Hillsboro After Prom and a donation to the Elks Lodge for the use of the lodge for monthly meetings.

The next regular meeting will be June 14, 2011 beginning at 7 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
