Highland Masonic Lodge recognizes outstanding graduates

Highland Masonic Lodge No. 38 F.&A.M. in Hillsboro recognized seven outstanding graduating seniors at our annual scholarship night on May 1 at a dinner honoring the recipients and their families at the Lodge building.
Highland Lodge awarded each recipient with a new laptop pc. This is a project which Highland Masonic Lodge has been sponsoring for approximately 15 years.
This year’s recipients are Carter Boyd, Ryan Fender, Blake Herdman, Halle Jones, Molly
Smith, Andrew Tomko and Emma Yochum.
The Scholarship committee is WB Rick Grant, WB Carol Jones, WB Jeff Greene, and Brothers Robert Griffith, Robert Neal and Philip Burchett.
Highland Lodge 38 has been active in Hillsboro since 1817, and currently has approximately
250 members.
Charity is an important tenet of the Masonic fraternity. Masons in Ohio provide approximately $15 million in charitable giving annually, including scholarships, support of the Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games, and free training for Ohio school teachers to recognize students at non-academic risk.
