Heartland hosts 7th annual chili supper and auction for HCSCA

Winning chili recipes from the seventh annual Heartland Chili Challenge were enjoyed Thursday, March 3 at the Old Ponderosa Banquet Center, during the chili supper and dessert auction, sponsored by Heartland of Hillsboro, Gibbs Associates Insurance, The Highland County Press, Kroger, NCB, Hillsboro Ponderosa Steak House, Wilkin-Wilkin Insurance and Buckeye Country 105.5 FM.

Sixteen chili recipes  were entered in the seventh annual chili challenge on Feb. 23, hosted by Heartland of Hillsboro.

Vickie Kirk came out victorious for the second year in a row in the "hot" category, while Darlene Roades took first in the "mild" division.

All proceeds go to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults telethon. This year's telethon is set for 6-10 p.m., Wednesday, March 30 at U.S. Bank in Hillsboro and McClain High School in Greenfield.[[In-content Ad]]
