Elizabeth Hershberger wins RFL area chili cook-off 
Elizabeth Hershberger took first place in the Rocky Fork Lake Area Christmas chili cook-off at Bayview Campground & Cottages on Saturday, Dec. 11, earning $119 for her chosen charity of choice, Highland District Hospital Maternity Ward.
Beechwood Pizza and Slow N Low Barbecue also competed in the friendly event, which was open to the public. Six chili recipes were entered in the competition.
“All the recipes were super,” said Amy Warren, manager of Bayview. “We had pork chili, habanero chili, and sweet chili. Santa arrived just in time before the weather broke to light our tree and talk with all the kids. We had a lot of fun. The bonfire was just perfect for this time of year.”
