A benefit for David John Cokonougher will be held at the Greenfield Eagles 1325 on Feb. 19, 2011.

David was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and is in need of a transplant. This benefit is to help with the medical expenses since he does not have any insurance at this time. David is a native of Greenfield and a 1968 graduate of McClain High School. He owns Dave and Son Carpet. David found out a few years ago that he had type 2 diabetes. He has a possibility to get on a donors list, but at this time they are still not sure. Without the transplant, he may have a year to live with the liver he has now.

The benefit will begin at 4 p.m., with music from 6-12. The band Dumbfounded will perform. Cover charge is $10 or a donation. Food will be offered. An auction will take place throughout the evening. Raffles and 50/50 tickets will be sold. All donations can be written as a tax deduction. An account for donations for David has been opened at Merchants Bank.
