Area 937 Community Outreach is holding a food drive in November, with the community encouraged to donate nonperishable food items ahead of the holiday season.

According to President/Executive Director Chuck Aurigema, the Hillsboro City schools kindergarten classes as well as Hillsboro Christian Academy are collecting donations for the food drive. Donations can also be made in person at 8387 state Route 73, Hillsboro or at any of the following locations: Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, Hillsboro Church of Christ, Peoples Bank, First State Bank or Chuck Wait Tire.

Area 937 is an independent, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) religious, charitable nonprofit organization and is 100-percent volunteer-run. Area 937 is dedicated to aiding those from Highland and surrounding counties who are either unemployed, underserved or struggling by providing food, clothing and daily necessities for their families.

In addition, Aurigema said that there are currently openings for families in need. If you are in need of assistance, forms can be accessed at https://www.area937.org, or you can call (937) 840-0937 for more information. You can also follow Area 937 Community Outreach, Inc. on Facebook for updates.
