Altrusa suffers major loss in Highland Enterprise fire

Altrusa lost 377 children’s books in the fire on Sunday. They were sorted in boxes for all the schools in Highland County.

The books were for grades kindergarten through sixth grade and purchased by Altrusa through their chicken pie sales and donations by members. Altrusapolooza was also held at the location of the fire in May of last year. Altrusapolooza monies were used to purchase books for the Highland County schools. Books are given out to kindergartners, third-graders and sixth-graders along with newborns in Highland County.

Altrusa International of Highland County will be selling chicken pies again this year. They will be homemade in February. If you would like to place an order for a chicken pie or chicken pot pie, contact any Altrusa member.[[In-content Ad]]
