Zola Carolyn Collins, 68, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 7, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 9, 1943 in Allensburg, the daughter of the late James Wilbur and Elma Hazel Murphy Woodyard.
Mrs. Collins was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Charles E. Collins; one daughter, Debra (Richard) Whitenack of Hillsboro; four sons, Randy (Jill) Collins of Georgetown, Brian (Ruth) Collins of Mt. Orab and Kevin and David Collins of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren, Ashley (Bruce) Bennett, Storm Brown, Derrick Dean, Chad (Karen) Myers, Alicia, Alaina, Natalie, Sydney and Jadis Collins and Patrick Owen Lafferty; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Compher of Greenfield and Glenna (Adron) Mullins of Johnstown, Ohio; and two brothers, Harry (Phyllis) Woodyard of Crown City, Ohio and John (Mary) Woodyard of Lynchburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Whitenack; three sisters, Mary Virginia Lauder, Dorothy Jean Ballard and Christine Hazel Shoemaker; and three brothers, James Robert Woodyard, Ora Woodyard and Charles David Woodyard.
A visitation and remembrance of Carolyn’s life with be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Cremation will follow.
