William Monroe 'Monk' Wooton
William Monroe "Monk" Wooton, 67, of Hillsboro died Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Hospice of Dayton.
He was born Nov. 18, 1944 in Carrie, Ky., the son of the late Flannery B. and Lakie Caldwell Wooton.
Mr. Wooton had worked for the Khole Brothers Trucking in Springfield, Ohio, the Silver Star Boat Factory in Indiana and the Pennsylvania Railroad in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Storck Wooton whom he had married on March 2, 1988 in Peebles, Ohio, three children, Hester (Aaron) Daniels, Flannery Monroe (Debbie) Wooton and Chester Lee Wooton all of Springfield, eleven grandchildren, Michael Scott Grooms Wooton, Aaron Travis Monroe Wooton, Jennifer Nicole Wooton, Harley Wooton, Dylan Wooton, Shianna Elizabeth Wooton, Brooklyn Ranee Wooton, Jack Wooton, Joshua Collett, Christopher Collett and Scott Collett, 13 great-grandchildren, one brother, Elmer Wooton of Bainbridge, several nieces and nephews and special friends, Gary Allen, Randy Collins, Lloyd Hewitt, Randy Smith and Donald Lunsford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Rodney Collett Jr. and one brother, Mack Wooton.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 6 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor John Worley and Pastor Foster Walters will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery.
