William Harold "Bill" Rhoads, 66, of Leesburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 3, 1944 at Elmville, the son of the late Hershel and Ada (Gustin) Rhoads. Besidse his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Richard Rhoads, and two sisters Martha, Gall and Lucy Rhodes.
He was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie #1161 Hillsboro and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet-Nam Era.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn (Smith) Rhoads, who he married on June 16, 1998; two daughters and son-in-law, Nyoka Rhoads of Hillsboro and Betty Sue and Jake Eads of Leesburg; five grandchildren, Brett and Kyle Salyer, Juli-Ann Hargett, and Becca and Jada Eads; two brothers, Eugene (Jeanette) Rhoads of Martinsville, Ohio and Robert (Venita) Rhoads of Wilmington; seven sisters, Sara (Richard) Speaight of Kansas City, Kan., Shirley (Larry) Quigley of Martinsville., Peggy (Elden) Speaight of Wilmington., Sharon (Rick) Adams of South Carolina, Sandy (Sam) Homer of Wilmington, Brenda (Mike) Mobley of Blanchester, and Debbie (Brian) Napier of Blanchester; brother-in-law Richard Gall of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Jack Cox will officiate services.
Military Rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard following services at the Thompson Funeral Home.
