William H. Gardner, 83, of Hillsboro, formerly of Columbus, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his home.

He was born July 13, 1928 in Bellaire, Ohio, the son of the late John Henry and Flora Simms Gardner.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had served in both the World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Gardner had been a truck driver and loved to fish.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Martha J. Fetters; son William Foster of Columbus; and his best buddy “Buddy."

Funeral services will be held privately for family and friends. Public visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 6-7 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home, Hillsboro.
